Turkey Earthquake: A Girl was rescued from rubble after 178 hours in the block of flats

Miray was trapped in the block of flats for 178 hours or seven and a half days.

The video showed her employees cheering and shouting "God is great" as she was lifted out of the darkness.

Several people were rescued on Monday, including a 13-year-old boy who had been trapped for 182 hours, but rescues are becoming increasingly rare as the death toll surpasses 36,000 (According to CNN news).

This is due to the time limit that the human body can survive without water. Other factors include breathing room for those trapped and the severity of injuries, emergency medical officials told the BBC.

Professor Tony Redmond also said the low temperatures in Turkey and Syria are a double-edged sword.

He explained that when it's very cold, your blood vessels constrict, allowing you to live a little longer from injury. But being too cold is itself harmful.

The death toll in Turkey and neighboring Syria is expected to rise dramatically, with the UN humanitarian chief warning that the number could double. Milay, a girl who was rescued in Adiyaman city on Monday, was placed on a stretcher and carried by rescue workers. Local media reported that the local team had hoped to find her sister.

In the hard-hit Hatay province, her 13-year-old Khan was rescued after being trapped for 182 hours, and a woman named Naide her Umai, who was alive 175 hours later, was also rescued.

In the town of Kahramanmaras, rescuers contacted a grandmother, mother, and baby who were stranded but alive.

Thousands of teams across the region, including miners and specialists using thermal imaging cameras and sniffer dogs, are examining the remains of the collapsed building for any survivors.

However, hopes of finding someone alive are fading and the rescue operation feels like it will end soon.

The focus is shifting to recovery, with authorities dealing with shelter, food, and medical care.

President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has acknowledged the failure to respond, but he appeared to blame fate when visiting the affected areas last week.

Authorities say he issued 113 warrants and detained 12 of his people, including contractors, in connection with the construction of the collapsed building.
