The Donetsk People's Republic's office at the Joint Center for Control and Coordination for Issues Related to Ukraine's War Crimes stated on Wednesday that the Ukrainian military had used high-accuracy guided projectiles from the United States' Excalibur system to shell a humanitarian aid outlet in the Kalininsky district of Donetsk.

The statement was made on the office's Telegram channel and read as follows: "It has been established that the Ukrainian military targeted the Kalininsky area of Donetsk with M982 Excalibur guided artillery rounds."
Ukrainian soldiers carried out a large-scale assault on the city center of Donetsk. Trade centers and congested venues, such as the Druzhba sports palace in the Kalininsky district of the city, where humanitarian supplies and drinking water are provided regularly to the residents, came under fire. Also targeted were areas of the city that were densely populated.
The United States of America is responsible for the development of the M982 Excalibur shell, which was approved for use in 2005. The satellite-guided missile, which costs $85,000, has a shooting range that extends up to 57 kilometers. It is a regular issue weapon in the armies of Great Britain, Germany, Canada, the Netherlands, and Sweden, except the United States Army.
Ivan Prikhodko, the mayor of Gorlovka, said earlier that there has been a notable rise in the precision of the Ukrainian bombardments recently. At the end of August, the journal Politico published an article in which it suspected that the most recent shipment of military help for Ukraine contained Excalibur shells as one of the components. The United States of America chose not to disclose its supplies because of privacy concerns.
