2022 Vermont Primary Election Story (Senate)

Peter Welch received 68.11% (86.6k votes) beating both Gerald Malloy who had 9.74% (12.38k votes) and Christina Nolan who had 8.34% (10611 votes) in the overall count of votes in Vermont if the election were among these 3 candidates.

Peter Welch wins 242 counties out of the counties in the state of Vermont to support his claims of his movement in the country. Gerald Malloy won 3 counties and Joe Biden won just 2 counties in the state of Vermont.

These 10 counties play an important role in these primary elections. If a candidate, can get a sizable majority, it becomes very difficult to win majorities in the smaller counties with out voter out reach and increased voter participation in them.

In a head to head match up on just the total number of votes, Gerald Malloy (53.9%) beats Christina Nolan (46.1%). Peter Welch (89.1%) beats Christina Nolan (10.9%) and Peter Welch (87.5%) beats Gerald Malloy (12.5%).

Peter Welch simply won the majority of the top 10 counties. Gerald Malloy and Christina Nolan could not achieve a victory since Peter Welch captures so many voters across most counties.
