2022 Ohio Primary Election Story (Governor)

A head to head comparison of the 2022 Ohio Primary gives us an idea of the break down of the voters.

Mike DeWine received 32.69% (519.59k votes) beating both Nan Whaley who had 20.83% (331.01k votes) and Jim Renacci who had 19.03% (302494 votes) in the overall count of votes in Ohio if the election were among these 3 candidates.

Mike DeWine wins 59 counties out of the counties in the state of Ohio to support his claims of his movement in the country. Joe Blystone won 23 counties and Joe Biden won just 2 counties in the state of Ohio.

These 10 counties play an important role in these primary elections. If a candidate, can get a sizable majority, it becomes very difficult to win majorities in the smaller counties with out voter out reach and increased voter participation in them.

In a head to head match up on just the total number of votes, Nan Whaley (52.3%) beats Jim Renacci (47.7%). Mike DeWine (63.2%) beats Jim Renacci (36.8%) and Mike DeWine (61.1%) beats Nan Whaley (38.9%).

Mike DeWine simply won the majority of the top 10 counties. Nan Whaley and Jim Renacci could not achieve a victory since Mike DeWine captures so many voters across most counties.
