2022 Illinois Primary Election Story (Governor)

A head to head comparison of the 2022 Illinois Primary gives us an idea of the break down of the voters.

JB Pritzker received 46.6% (783.59k votes) beating both Darren Bailey who had 27.07% (455.23k votes) and Richard Irvin who had 9.12% (153295 votes) in the overall count of votes in Illinois if the election were among these 3 candidates.

Darren Bailey wins 84 counties out of the counties in the state of Illinois to support his claims of his movement in the country. JB Pritzker won 15 counties and Joe Biden won just 2 counties in the state of Illinois.

These 10 counties play an important role in these primary elections. If a candidate, can get a sizable majority, it becomes very difficult to win majorities in the smaller counties with out voter out reach and increased voter participation in them.

In a head to head match up on just the total number of votes, Darren Bailey (74.8%) beats Richard Irvin (25.2%). JB Pritzker (83.6%) beats Richard Irvin (16.4%) and JB Pritzker (63.3%) beats Darren Bailey (36.7%).

JB Pritzker simply won the majority of the top 10 counties. Darren Bailey and Richard Irvin could not achieve a victory since JB Pritzker captures so many voters across most counties.
