2022 Colorado Primary Election Story (Governor)

A head to head comparison of the 2022 Colorado Primary gives us an idea of the break down of the voters.

Jared Polis received 45.25% (523.45k votes) beating both Heidi Ganahl who had 29.49% (341.13k votes) and Greg Lopez who had 25.26% (292163 votes) in the overall count of votes in Colorado if the election were among these 3 candidates.

Greg Lopez wins 32 counties out of the counties in the state of Colorado to support his claims of his movement in the country. Jared Polis won 27 counties and Joe Biden won just 2 counties in the state of Colorado.

These 10 counties play an important role in these primary elections. If a candidate, can get a sizable majority, it becomes very difficult to win majorities in the smaller counties with out voter out reach and increased voter participation in them.

In a head to head match up on just the total number of votes, Heidi Ganahl (53.9%) beats Greg Lopez (46.1%). Jared Polis (64.2%) beats Greg Lopez (35.8%) and Jared Polis (60.5%) beats Heidi Ganahl (39.5%).

Jared Polis simply won the majority of the top 10 counties. Heidi Ganahl and Greg Lopez could not achieve a victory since Jared Polis captures so many voters across most counties.
