2020 Primary Elections Comparison of Counties Won by President Trump, VP Biden and Senator Sanders

President Donald Trump performed better than both Vice President Joe Biden and Senator Bernie Sanders in 33 states by 2,195 and 2,546 counties respectively out of those 33 states.

When taking all 40 States where these 3 candidates partook of a Presidential Primary, President Trump's lead to each of the other to candidates (VP Biden and Senator Sanders) was reduced to 1,943 and 2,418 counties respectively. A curious thing to comment is that these 3 candidates convincingly won many of the States they won, except for the States of Maryland, Mississippi, New Mexico and Rhode Island, where the contest between President Trump and VP Biden was close.

What does the graph has to say?

Out of the over 3,100 counties in the 2020 Presidential General Elections, President Trump won 2,730 counties. VP Joe Biden on the other hand won 787 counties, while Senator Bernie Sanders won 312. This seemingly vast difference has only a small effect on the actual votes received by both President Trump and VP Joe Biden.
